The Concilium President asked me to reply to your message of 02 November 2005 regarding Bible Study. I apologize for the delay. I tried to send this to another address about two weeks ago but it did not go through.
꼰칠리움 단장께서 제게 성서공부에 대한 2005년 11월 2일자 단장님의 서한에 응신하라고 지시 하였습니다. 답변이 지연되어 죄송합니다. 약 2주전에 본 서한을 다른 이메일 주소로 발송하려 하였으나 발송되지 않았습니다.
I am afraid that I am not acquainted with the seven step or three step bible study system. Also I am not acquainted with the format of meetings of the Small Community Campaign. As you know, the praesidium meeting has a particular structure invoving prayers, spiritual reading, reports, discussion, allocutio, study, allocation of work. The handbook says that the choice of spiritual reading is free so this means that it may be taken from the Bible if so wished. The study part of the meeting may also focus on the Bible if so wished.(See Appendix 10 of the handbook - Study of the Faith). One could alternate between handbook study and bible study. Or the allocutio could be taken from the bible some weeks. However handbook study should not be totally neglected !
죄송하지만 저는 성서공부 7단계나 3단계 시스템이 무엇인지 잘 모르겠습니다. 또한 소공동체 모임 형식에 대해서도 잘모르겠습니다. 단장님도 아시다시피 쁘레시디움 주회합은 기도, 영적독서, 활동 보고, 토의, 훈화, 공부, 활동배당을 포함하는 특정 구조를 지니고 있습니다. 교본은 영적독서의 대상을 선정하는 것은 자유라고 하고 있으며, 이는 곧 원한다면 성서의 내용을 영적독서로 할 수 있다는 것 입니다. 그리고 주회합의 공부부분 역시 원한다면 성서에 촛점을 맞출 수 있다라고 되어 있습니다. (교본 부록 10 – 신심공부 참조) 그리고 교본 연구과 성서공부를 번갈아 가며 할 수 있습니다. 또는 훈화 역시 주간 성서의 내용들 중에서 발췌될 수 있습니다. 그러나 교본 공부를 완전히 무시해서는 안됩니다.
The praesidium meeting, of course, has a maximum time limit so it is necessary to balance the time given to the various items of the meeting. If the members are doing active apostolic work and reporting on it this will take some time so the time for study has to be limited. Another consideration in regard to the choice of spiritual reading and study is the necessity for legionaries to receive a formation in the spirit and methods of their organisation. For this reason, we regard reading from the Legion handbook and study of the handbook as being particularly useful. If the handbook is not used at a praesidium meeting over a long period how will this affect the legionary formation of the members? The handbook says: "Essentially it will the duty of a Spiritual Director of the Legion of Mary to fill all his members with an enlightened and most intense love of the Mother of God, and in particular for those privileges of hers which the Legion specially honours." (Chap. 34:1)
쁘레시디움 주회합은 당연히 최대 시간의 제한을 가지고 있기때문에 주 회합의 다양한 각 부분별로 주어지는 시간에 대한 균형을 유지해야 할 필요가 있습니다. 만일 단원이 사도직 활동을 활발하게 하고 있으며, 이에 대한 보고를 하게되면 그 보고에 시간이 상당히 걸리게 될 것이며, 따라서 공부에 배정되는 시간은 제한되게 될 것입니다. 영적독서와 공부에 관한 또 다른 고려사항 한 가지는 이 들 모두가 레지오 단원들의 영석적인 성숙과 체계화에 대한 방법을 배우는데 있어 반드시 필요한 것이라는 점 입니다. 이러한 이유들을 볼때, 저희는 교본의 내용을 읽는 것과 연구하는 것은 분명 유익한 일이라 생각합니다. 만일 교본이 쁘레시디움 주회합에서 장기간 사용되지 않는다면 어떻게 교본이 레지오 단원들의 레지오적인 요소에 영향을 줄 수 있습니까? 교본에서는 “필연적으로 모든 레지오 마리애의 영적 지도자에게는 그들의 단원들이 하느님의 어머니의 강력한 사랑과 가르침으로 충만 될 수 있도록 하는 것이 의무로 되어있으며, 그리고 이러한 성모님의 특전들에 대해 레지오는 특별히 경의를 표하는 것이다.”(34장 1절)라고 하고 있습니다.
If the meetings of the Small Community Campaign are able to devote a considerable amount of time to the study of the Bible, it would seem desirable that legionaries would promote these meetings and if it is possible attend them (if they can do so while still attending their praesidium meetings), rather than try to graft something on to the praesidium meeting, at which there might not be sufficient time for such study or at which the time given for the study might affect the other items of the meeting, particularly in regard to the allocation of work and reports on the work done.
만일 소공동체 모임이 성서공부에 상당한 시간을 할애 할 수 있다면, 레지오 단원들이 그 모임을 활성화 시키는 것이 바람직한 것으로 보입니다. 그리고 그 모임들에 참석 할 수 있다면(만일 단원들이 그들의 쁘레시디움 회합에 계속 참가하면서 그렇게 할 수 있다면) 아마도 그러한 공부나 다른 공부에 배정된 시간의 부족으로 주회합의 다른 순서들에 영향을 줄수 있는 쁘레시디움 주회합에 무엇인가를 끌어다 붙히는 것 보다는 이를 활동으로 배당하고 그 활동 결과에 대해 보고를 하게 하는 것이 더 바람직 할 겁니다.

As you know Asia bishop's conference decided to accept Small Community Campaign ( Originated from South America, 5-10 Person, Weekly meeting, 7 step bible study..) for all the Asia catholic church. There is a continuous questions from Fathers that how about including 7 step (or 3step) bible study in Praesidium Weekly meeting. Please give us right directions and thanks.

The handbook says that the choice of spiritual reading is free so this means that it may be taken from the Bible if so wished.
